Research Remotely (For Hamline Students)

Pay Attention"Yes! You can return books/dvds/cds/etc to the library via our external book-drop, located on the west side of the library. Technology items (laptops, wifi hotspots, etc) CANNOT go in the book-drop. Please hold on to those items at this time. Email with questions."

Research Assistance

Make a research appointment, and meet via email or virtually, using Google Meet, with one of the reference librarians.

Interlibrary Loan **SUBJECT TO CHANGE**

Interlibrary Loan questions should be directed to the opens in new windowInterlibrary Loan staff. 

Bush Library Materials
  • Hamline's ebooks and other online content is available via our library website, guides and in CLICsearch. The physical materials in Bush Library are not accessible at this time. This option is subject to change, check back often for updates).
    • If CLICsearch indicates that the item you need is owned at Hamline and that item appears to be only available as a physical item (print book, physical DVD, journal), go ahead and opens in new window Place a request in CLICsearch for the item you want. 
    • We will attempt to fill your request with an alternative digital or electronic version of the item you requested, (ebook, streaming video, etc.)
    • You will be notified via your Hamline email account, if we are able to provide e-versions of your item(s), or if we are unable to fill your request.   Questions can be directed to 651-523-2220 or, or 651-523-2373  or 
  • Due dates for material currently checked out has been extended through at least May 15.  We understand that returning materials will be difficult for some people.  We do not charge daily fines.

CLIC Library Materials
  • Hamline is currently NOT able to request books from other  opens in new windowCLIC libraries due to library closures.  Therefore, temporarily, CLICsearch only displays items held at Hamline.  
  • We are currently in the process of extending the due dates of things that have already been checked-out through at least May 15.

Interlibrary Loans
  • ILL is not currently able to request physical books.  They will attempt to fill electronic requests. Interlibrary Loan renewal requests can be placed via the below process :
    • Log into your ILLiad account
    • Go to "Checked Out Items"
    • Click on your item's "Transaction Number"
    • Click on
