Bush Library’s Leganto tool is designed to help instructors incorporate library materials in their online or hybrid courses. Leganto helps build reading lists that include books and articles owned by the library, videos, web resources, and more. This page contains instructions to help you get started. For individualized help, contact your Liaison Librarian.
Benefits:
- Instructors search CLICsearch from within Leganto and link directly to resources; no need to deal with off-campus access or link maintenance
- Course materials can be saved and reused in other courses or future semesters
- Course materials lists are added to the LMS course navigation so that students have easy access
- Simply tag items in your reading list as reserve items. Save yourself some time from otherwise having to fill out the Bush Library Reserves form.
- Maintain copyright compliance. Saving PDFs to your Google Drive and then pasting links into Canvas may open Hamline University to copyright infringement litigation. By using Reading Lists, you can enlist the help of librarians to help your course material meet copyright standards.

- Your results will appear in the dialog box below your search query.
- To add a resource from the search results to your reading list, just select the resource and click Add button. Or, simply drag it into the appropriate section in your list.

- You can edit the section information by clicking the 3 dots (•••) to the right of the section name and selecting Edit Section. This will allow you to change the title, dates, and description.
- Click save when you have made all of your changes.
- After you have more than one section you can reorder them by clicking on the section name and drag it to the preferred location.
- If you want to add additional citation information to the item or delete it, click the ••• beside the item title and select appropriate action.

Send List to Library
When you're finished with a list, send it to the library so the librarian can review it. This reading list service includes the library liaison confirming that all citations and links are working properly, taking actions to acquire needed content, digitizing items upon request, and determining when copyright compliance fees are necessary.
Reading lists are processed by the library in the order they are submitted. Please provide your liaison enough time to process your list(s).

When the librarian has finished reviewing a reading list and notified you that it is ready, Publish it by clicking the ••• icon in the upper left to open the menu. This ensures the reading list is visible to students.
