A short guide to using CLICsearch to discover library materials and to manage your library account.

Getting the Most out of CLICsearch

 

CLICsearch uses your Hamline computer login/ password for easy sign in. Once you sign in, you’re able to:

  • Access electronic content full text

  • Place requests

  • Get items from other CLIC libraries 

  • Review your checked out items and holds

  • Save favorites

 

CLICsearch has many built in filters on the left side of the page to narrow to specific types of results. You can include or exclude types of resources, limit to local library collections, and more.

 

You can also use the scopes in the search bar to narrow or broaden the resources you’re looking at.

 

 

 

If you want to search for a specific title or author use the Advanced Search.

Use Advanced Search to narrow to a specific:

  • Title
  • Author
  • Subject
  • ISBN/ ISSN
  • Publisher
  • Series
  • Genre

Use Advanced Search to pre-filter results by material type. For example, if you want to find a DVD of a movie, conduct an Advanced Search for material type Videos.

Looking for an audio/music CD? Conduct an Advanced Search for material type Audio.

Advanced Search is also useful for searching for course reserves.
