Rare Books

The Rare Books Room at Hamline University School of Law is housed in the Faculty Study off of the main floor of the Law Library.   Materials are accessible by appointment only, and can only be used in the Rare Book room or Library.  None of the material s can be photocopied, and users may be asked to wear cotton gloves when handling materials.

Half of the current collection consists of books donated by Nick Triffin, Hamline University School of Law Library Director circa 1978.  The other half of the collection consists of books donated by various individuals or institutions.  As of 2013, the Library does not purchase rare books to add to the collection.

This collection of rare law related texts were gifted by Madeleine (Triffin) Wilkin and Robert Triffin in memory of Nick Triffin, Library Director circa 1978.
