Learning Outcomes for First Year Writing 1120 IL instruction

First Year Writing 1120 Library Instruction is designed to help you do the following:

Find the gateways to library services, books and articles on the Library Home Page.
Refine your search results using options such as database-supplied words, truncation and date limits.
Access articles and books that Bush Memorial Library does not own in print or online.
Organize and save your book and article citations, secure a path back to the full-text, and create the rough draft of a Works Cited page.
Differentiate among MLA citations for books, chapters, websites, and articles.

Students are provided opportunities to demonstrate their understanding of these skills during in-class activities with the librarian and in assignments provided by the faculty member for this course.
