Hamline University has a physical Archives collection, located in BML 31 (lower level). Access is by appointment only, and at this time would be with a librarian, as our Archivist position is currently unfilled. Please plan several weeks out prior to requesting a visit.
Bring a pencil, no pens are allowed
No food or drink is allowed in the space
Cameras can be used to capture information, unless prohibited by restrictions on the item.
You may be asked to wear special cotton gloves when handling some materials
Cell phone coverage is poor in this space
Have conversations with the librarian two weeks before your preferred visit date, so they can prepare, locate, and pull some potential items for you to examine on your topic
Hamline has eight distinct digital collections that have been, or are in the process of being created. There are also many digital documents, images, sound and audio recordings that are not part of a "collection." Much of this content must be mediated (an archivist/librarian must help identify it), since there are not a lot of Finding Aids on Topics.
