Using our print collections

Hamline Alumni

Hamline alumni are invited to check out books in the Hamline Libraries’ circulating collection. Please see the staff at the Circulation Desk about establishing borrowing privileges, which involves our verifying your alumni status with the Registrar. Note: The university does not offer CLIC library privileges to alumni.

Community Members

The general public is welcome to come to the library to use our materials. The university does not offer check-out privileges to the general public.

Accessing our online resources

Hamline Alumni

Hamline alumni may come to the library to access our online resources. You will need a temporary guest login to access Hamline computers. Guest logins are available at the ITS Helpdesk. For help using databases, see the Reference Desk.

Community Members

Due to licensing issues, the university cannot offer access to online resources to the general public.

Public Library Services

Many people are unaware that their public libraries offer:

  • Online databases, such as Business Source Premier and Educator’s Reference Complete
  • Interlibrary loan services for obtaining material from other library collections, including Hamline’s.
  • eBooks, streaming audio, DIY learning materials (test prep., language learning, computer skills, etc.), and much more.
